Caring for your Jewellery

Your jewellery is designed to be admired for years to come, so proper care is essential to ensure your stones and metals always sparkle at their best.

Always put on your gold vermeil jewellery after dressing and remove it before undressing.

Professional Clean

Secrets by Amaar offers a complimentary jewellery cleaning service for any product purchased from our stores or online. You’re welcome to visit your nearest store at any time, or Book an Appointment for a more personalised experience, and our team will professionally clean your jewellery for you.

Alternatively, you can arrange to send your jewellery to our workshop via our online store. We will inspect and clean your piece free of charge, however rhodium plating and postage fees may apply.

At home cleaning products

Gently clean your jewellery with a soft cloth to remove oils and dirt, preventing tarnish buildup. For lightly tarnished pieces, use a gold polish cloth only. Avoid using chemical jewellery dips, as they can strip away the gold.

We recommend using our Gold or Silver Jewellery Cleaner, and other jewellery cleaning solutions - be sure you follow the instructions as prescribed by the manufacturer for the best results.

Maintenance check

Time worn claws or settings may result in the loss of a stone and therefore we recommend that you bring your jewellery into your local Secrets by Amaar store on an annual basis for a maintenance check, or arrange with our Customer Service Team via our Online Store onlineassist@secretsbyamaar.com

Cultured fresh water pearls

Cultured fresh water pearls are very delicate and should be treated with care. To clean, simply wipe them with a soft dampened clean cloth, or use our recommended jewellery cleaner. Pearls can be damaged or scratched if exposed to rough surfaces or chemicals such as laundry cleaner or ammonia.

White Gold

White gold is created by alloying natural yellow gold with white metals, resulting in a soft grey tone. It is then finished with a rhodium plating to achieve its bright, lustrous appearance.

Over time, this plating will naturally wear and require reapplication to maintain its finish. The frequency of re-rhodium plating will vary depending on wear, exposure to chemicals and individual skin chemistry. This is a standard maintenance process for all white gold jewellery and may incur a small service fee.

Sterling Silver

All Secrets by Amaar silver jewellery is crafted from sterling silver, the highest grade used in jewellery manufacturing. To achieve a bright, lustrous finish, each piece is rhodium plated.

Over time, this plating will naturally wear and can be reapplied to restore its original shine. This is a standard maintenance process and may incur a small service fee.

Gold Vermeil

While we take pride in the quality of our gold vermeil jewellery, we cannot guarantee that plated pieces will retain their original appearance indefinitely. By nature, plated jewellery is more delicate and may gradually lose its colour over time. The rate of fading can vary based on several factors, including exposure to skincare products, perfumes, perspiration, and your skin’s natural pH levels.

To help preserve the beauty and longevity of your piece, we strongly recommend following the care instructions provided with your purchase. Proper care will enhance wearability and extend the life of your jewellery.
